Our ice cream pompom garland is as sweet as can be! Designer Krista did such a great job of bringing this concept to life and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Garlands are such a versatile decoration – drape them across a mantle, string them around a plant, don them as a necklace… the styling options are endless. Tools and Materials to make pompom ice cream cones
- Low-Temp Hot Glue Gun
- Clover Extra-Small Pom Pom Maker
- Long Sewing Needle
- Gold Glitter Iron-On
- Baker’s Twine
How to make ice cream cones
Gather the tools and materials listed above.
Cut out the felt pieces according to the template. To make glitter felt, apply the glitter iron-on to feel with iron prior to cutting.
Form the felt into a cone shape and glue together. The rounded edge should be wrapped on the outside, with the straight edge on the inside.
Fill the cones with a bit of poly-fill.
Make yarn pom-poms using an extra small pompom maker. Trim evenly.
To make a speckled pompom, wrap the pom maker with a short length of a second color.
To make a double scoop cone, tie 2 pom poms together snugly and trim ends.
Glue around the rim of the felt cone and press the pompoms in.’
Thread baker’s twine through the top of the pompom.
Continue adding more ice cream cones to make a full garland.
